Here in the US it goes by Horsesoccer.I do not play on an organized team but a few of us get together after shows (Paso Finos)and kick it around.My mare loves to go after that thing.I use it as a reward at the end of a work session.It's also a great way to work on the horse's flexibility getting them to turn around the ball .changing directions etc and help the rider in learning to use their legs and body ( as opposed to just yanking on the head) to direct the horse.We just had a Youth Clinic here and one of the games was horse soccer.The kids (6-16) loved it.

Tough story man, but what YOU need to do is get mentally stronger. You can't worry about what other people say to you or do in the other net. You can only worry about yourself and no one else on the team. Goalkeeper is such an individual minded position that you need to get some kind of vision that the team needs you to be strong headed. If he comes over uninvited, don't let him in. If he continues to be an ass, don't be his friend anymore. You tried to be the nice guy…if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Having him on the team shouldn't affect you personally, and if it does, I suggest you find somehow to fix yourself mentally.

It is a large state both geographically and by population. In addition, it has several large cities. New York wouldn't have another city that could support a team (Buffalo? Rochester?) and, as you said, in Texas, baseball comes after football (Even after high school football), so a city like San Antonio, while perhaps being large enough, probably doesn't have the interest. California has managed to support all of its teams for decades now. Except for the Giants for a while, none have even suggested leaving.
